Ohad Landesman

Ohad Landesman is a film scholar who specializes in documentaries, cinema in the digital age and animation. He is a senior lecturer in film studies at the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University. He completed his PhD in the Department of Cinema Studies at New York University.

His writing has appeared in several academic journals such as Studies in Documentary Film, Animation: An Interdisciplinary Journal, Projections: The Journal for Movies and Mind, and Visual Anthropology Review, Jewish Film & New Media and Journal of Jewish Identities.

He is a co-editor of the anthology Truth or Dare: Selected Writings about Documentary Film (Am Oved, 2021), and his monograph Brief Encounters: Documentary Visits to an Imagined Israel was recently published by SUNY Press.
